Watch this video for step by step instructions! step 1 :Removing the Wheel. 0:30. Loosen the lug nuts with the vehicle on the ground. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack. Secure the vehicle on jack stands. Remove the lug nuts. Pull off the wheel. step 2 :Removing the Serpentine Belt. Snake the belt back onto all the pulleys in the correct order for your vehicle. Remember that any pulley that has grooves is meant to be driven by the grooves in the serpentine belt. The idler pulley, for example, doesn't have grooves because it rests on the back side of the belt. But the power steering pump pulley does have grooves. Motorcycles use a toothed belt similar to a timing belt, tension is usually less as it only requires enough tension to keep the teeth firmly engaged in the sprockets. Not sure about an actual tension figure for serpentine belts. It would of course largely depend on the belts' thickness, width, and construction.
a) removing the belt. B) removing the screws on the tensioner. the tensioner doesnt seem to come off the engine. I dont know what other steps are required to remove it. while i was releaving the tension to remove the belt, the revolving pulley on the tensioner broke, so i cannot replace the belt and take it to a mechanic .
Step 3 – Remove serpentine belt. Remove the serpentine belt by turning the 19mm bolt on the tensioner clockwise. It is easiest to access this bolt from the engine bay as shown in Figure 3. After the tension is released, you can maneuver the belt out of the engine bay. Figure 3. . 489 15 195 496 476 470 95 469
